Dfengine 1.05

This new version introduces a console command that downloads maps from a web server. It is powered by the http://q3a.ath.cx/ map repository. Usage is: /download mymapname. Information about setting up a web server to work with this feature can be found here: http://q3defrag.org/files/dfengine/doc/server_download.txt.

Autorecord bug in 1.91.14

I rewrote parts of the autorecord and player interference code which both had significant issues. Take extra care while upgrading as it hasn't been thoroughly tested.

The 1.91.14 autorecord has a (quite bad) flaw. You should consider upgrading now if you are submitting demos.

This makes defrag 1.91.16:

- fixed flawed 1.91.14 autorecord
- better g_sync management for autorecord (removed no longer needed cvar df_ar_nogsync)
- changed default for df_ar_stopDelay from 1800 to 3000
- added support for OSP colors ^8 and ^9
- added multiplayer support for map shooters

Another round of 1.91 fixes

There's a bit more to 1.91 that I thought there would. New features and significant changes mostly are going into 1.92 now.

This makes 1.91.14:

- silenced flag capture events from other players
- fixed more issues with the vq3 hud
- fixed minor issues with playing demos from other mods
- hud defaults to vq3 when watching demos from other mods (unless df_hud is set to 2)
- added /silent console command to exec a string while canceling out console output (eg. /silent record somedemo)
- pruned defrag console messages:
> silenced autorecord once and for all

Couple of fixes for defrag 1.91

This makes defrag 1.91.13.

- fixed blocking spawnpoints in fastcaps despite player interference being off
- fixed player interference changeable without game restart
- fixed server configuration for callvotes not being saved
- fixed player stat "best speed" missing when hud's ups meter is off
- fixed triggers with wait time of -1 requiring a map_restart
- fixed a couple issues with the vq3 hud
- fixed player model's head showing wrong skin in fast caps
- fixed demos of ctf games not showing proper team models
- fixed hud showing wrong best time after physics changes

Small update for the dfengine client console

Marky contributed some code that I held back for a while. Beside, the linux client needed attention.

This makes dfengine 1.03.

- configurable console height - cvar con_height, default .5 (contributed by Marky)
- added key modifiers to open the console fullscreen (alt+~) or over a few lines (shift+~) (contributed by Marky)
- fixed demo autocompletion for linux client

I lost access to this server some time ago - due to a misconfigured daemon. It took me some time to get it back on and I didn't have any backup of the blog contents, so it's been reset - sorry about that. I kept the original message for the sake of history.

Defrag continued

As surprising as it may be after years of silence, defrag is about to get updated. I've been coding for the mod since its very beginning - in fact I started working on what we called "defrag" at a time there wasn't an accompanying mod. You could call me the defrag grampa if you need put a label on me. Somehow I've never felt quite done with it and - heck - I do not intend to let defrag haunt me to the grave.
